Frequently asked questions
Are Children allowed at the wedding?
We understand that attending a destination wedding is a huge undertaking for parents of young children. So, we are happy to say we will be offering on-site childcare in the spacious playroom at Ardington House with professional childcare providers from Lemonjelly Childcare. If you are planning to travel with your child and would like to utilize these childcare services, please reach out to Annaleigh and she will discuss details and requirements with you.
Where should I stay? How do I reserve a discounted hotel room in your block?
We have three room blocks available, at the Courtyard Marriott 10 minutes from the venue, and at the Courtyard Marriott Oxford City Center and Malmaison Hotel in Oxford, each about 40 minutes from the venue. We will be providing shuttles between these three hotels and all wedding events. Check out our Lodging page for other options and more details!
Your wedding is in the Rural english countryside - Do I need to rent a car?
You do not need to rent a car to reach Ardington House and attend the wedding! There are public transportation options from both London Heathrow airport and central London to our hotel room blocks, and we will be offering guest shuttles between the hotels and wedding event locations.
For more information, please see the Travel page.
What is the dress Code?
The dress code is “Festive Black Tie Optional.” Guests are encouraged to dress formally but have fun! Think: suits and tuxes of any color, long solid or patterned gowns and dresses, fun pantsuits and jumpsuits, added flair and festoons wherever you want! If you’re looking for inspiration, here’s a Pinterest board with examples of this dress code. Keep in mind you will be walking on grass between the ceremony, drinks reception, and dinner, so plan your footwear accordingly.
Friday’s welcome party at the Eyston Arms is casual, summer night attire. We will be in the pub’s (tent-covered) garden so please dress for the weather. Sunday’s day after picnic is also casual, and you’re welcome to bring a swimsuit if you fancy taking a dip in the pool.
Can I/Should I wear a fascinator?
The most common question we’ve gotten so far! As alluded in the dress code - if wearing a fascinator is fun to you, then GO FOR IT! But it is not required :)
Are you accepting gifts?
It’s a cliché for a reason - your presence at our wedding is present enough! We will be honored and thrilled if you make the effort to travel the world to celebrate with us. If you are feeling extra generous and would still like to send a gift, we do have a registry available.
